Update on SKiLD learning programme 
 
Liberating Leadership - 16 & 17 June 2010 London, 24 & 25 June Birmingham
Delivered in partnership with Community Sector Coalition
 
This is a day and half residential with an optional one-day support session and is designed for development workers to enable them to help people recognise their role as leaders in their community and to develop confidence, skills and knowledge.  
 
Diversity - making it real - 21 June 2010 Taunton
Delivered in partnership with the National Equality Partnership 
 
This course is for development workers and will help you to develop the knowledge and skills you need to understand diversity and tackle inequality in the groups you work with, introduce you to UK legislation on diversity and provide you with practical strategies to address diversity issues in the groups you support. 
 
Negotiation skills - 22 June 2010 Taunton
This course will provide strategies to help you persuade and influence people with confidence.
 
Facilitation skills - 30 June, London
The course is aimed at development workers who are facilitating workshops, conferences and consultation events and meetings. 
 
Being a development worker - 6 July 2010, Birmingham
For people who are new to supporting groups, or revisiting the job after time away.
 
Project management - 13 July 2010, London 
This course is ideal for those who are new to project management, aspire to project management or have been managing projects for a short while but want to check that they have all the building blocks in place.

Certificate in Campaigning
Do you want to improve your skills in planning, delivery, evaluation and strategic thinking? NCVO's accredited course covers good practice campaigning and influencing over 10 modules. Series 7 runs from September 2010 to April 2011 and is now open for bookings.

Capacity Manager is a new online tool to enable you to evaluate whether your internal support services are working effectively. Going beyond simple health checks the tool allows users to compare indicative scores against other organisations or against your organisation over a period of time. How development workers can help groups with ICT
Two women with laptopIt can sometimes be difficult for development workers to keep up with all the changes in ICT or perhaps see how social networking could be useful, so the NAVCA ICT Champions have developed a workshop which offers useful advice, practical exercises and signposts to be used when working with groups. Social Networking Services - New case study and toolkit
As part of the Modernising Volunteering workstream, Volunteer Centre Brighton and Hove were selected by Red Foundation to pilot the use of social network services to demonstrate how volunteering support services and volunteer managers could benefit by actively engaging with these networks. The Safe Network
Safe NetworkThe Safe Network is jointly manged by the NSPCC and Children England, and was created as a result of the Government's Staying Safe action plan. Social media marketing event - 10 June 2010, Ipswich
This afternoon workshop is a follow-up to an event last June hosted by Doug Richard, the former BBC2 Dragon from Dragon's Den. It will give an overview of how to market your organisation in the most effective way using online techniques.
