Sue Dovey

Sue has been CEO of Community Action Hampshire, both a CVS and a RCC, for three years. Before that she worked at a similar organisation on the Isle of Wight and Surrey, for nearly five years.

After working in international finance for 13 years, she started in the sector as a volunteer adviser and social policy officer for the CAB.

Sue is on the Board of SERCC, the regional RCC body. She was Chair of RAISE (the regional infrastructure body) for five years. She also sits on the Regional Rural Forum.

Her role in Hampshire means promoting the work of the sector, including ensuring that the voice of local organisations and communities influences policy makers. Her role also includes ensuring that the local sector has access to the best quality support services.

In 2007 Sue completed a Masters Degree in Managing Voluntary Organisations and she has recently collaborated with Winchester University in developing, and will be lecturing on, a Foundation Degree in Voluntary Sector Management.

Sue brings to the NAVCA Board experience of rural, urban, wealthy and disadvantaged, together with a particular focus on workforce development.
