New bids are invited to this project which provides support for
commissioners and third sector organisations to work more closely
together in the commissioning process. IDeA has told us that
ideally the bids would come from a chair of an LSP so potentially
could come from the voluntary sector.
Commissioning Improvement Programme: more information
IDeA has teamed up with the Institute of Voluntary Action
Research (IVAR) to provide support for commissioners and third
sector organisations to develop new ways of working more closely
together. The aim is to help local partners to overcome some of the
barriers to working in partnership in order to make better and more
efficient use of resources and to achieve the desired outcomes for
local communities.
The focus of the programme will be on commissioning from small
and medium-sized local third sector organisations and is based on
the highly successful Partnership Improvement Programme.
Funding is available to work with three further partnerships.
The programme will comprise:
- initial discussions between the programme facilitators, local
authorities and key from other public agencies engaged in
commissioning from the third sector to discuss potential contracts
and service areas that might be chosen as areas of focus for the
programme
- initial discussions between the programme facilitators and
third sector representative groups to explain the purpose of the
programme and to discuss issues that are felt to be important
- three half-day sessions for the partners to work through a
series of exercises and discussions to develop a plan that can be
implemented locally to improve aspects of third sector
commissioning that have been identified by participants
themselves.
If you are interested in working with us on this programme
please send a brief (1 page) outline of your partnership and why
you think it is important that your partnership should be chosen to
