Local Resilience Action Plans

It is not possible to plan for every eventuality, but preparations can made to deal with potential problems. This Local Resilience Action Plan (LRAP) framework and guidance has been produced by NAVCA to help you develop your local own action plan. The framework supports you to assess the local impacts of the recession on the third sector and examine the capacity for preventative development work.

Once you have developed an LRAP, you will be able to use it with the Local Strategic Partnership as the basis for negotiating additional support for priority third sector organisations. Your LRAP will help your local third sector representatives argue the case for support for the local third sector.

Supporting documents

The following documents may help NAVCA members preparing their response to the recession

Backing communities: local solutions- a report published by NCVO and LGA highlighting work that local authorities are doing with third sector partners to support local people through the recession.

The effect of the current economic situation on the voluntary & community sector in Milton Keynes - This is an example of how one area has analysed the effect of the recession on a local area and developed recommendations on how to tackle these issues.
