The National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO) and the
Charity Finance Directors' Group (CFDG) have set up an independent
expert group on trustee and senior management expenses.
The independent expert group has been established to give third
sector organisations guidance on best practice and get consistency
across the sector on what and how third sector organisations report
expenses. The Group will be taking evidence from interested
organisations and will publish recommendations.
A NAVCA spokesperson said
"The sector needs clear, consistent and agreed guidance on how to
report expenses. NAVCA looks forward to considering the proposals
from the expert group before deciding on the best way we can
present expenses information."
Consultation
The Independent Expert Group on Expenses for registered
charities is conducting a consultation to obtain evidence of
how charities currently approach expenses disclosure, and views on
whether and how this could be developed in order to maintain public
confidence and trust in the sector.
The group is eager to obtain as many views as possible
from within the sector.
