NAVCA recognised its member's achievements at its annual
conference in Nottingham on Wednesday 17 September by presenting
seven member organisations who had gained the NAVCA Quality Award
with their certificates. The seven organisations who received their
certificates from Mike Martin, Chair of NAVCA, were:
Gloucestershire Association for
Voluntary and Community Action,
Herefordshire Voluntary
Action, Keighley Voluntary
Services, Tameside Third Sector
Coalition, Voluntary
Action Coventry,
Watford CVS and
York CVS. A further
thirteen members have received the award since last years AGM.
The Quality Award is a rigorous, externally audited,
NAVCA-accredited award that evaluates the quality of services
offered by local infrastructure organisations. By achieving the
Quality Awards the successful organisations have proved they
deliver quality infrastructure services to local voluntary and
community groups. By using an outcomes-based approach, the Quality
Award ensures that the activities of the organisation are totally
focused on meeting the needs of the local groups and communities
they serve.
After receiving the certificate, Will Lindesay, Chief Executive
of Herefordshire Voluntary Action said:
"I would recommend the Quality Award to any local infrastructure
organisation as a way of improving the outcomes it achieves for the
local voluntary sector. The Quality Award is more than just a
certificate, it gave us practical ways to improve."
Kevin Curley, Chief Executive of NAVCA said:
"Congratulations to these seven organisations. The 20 organisations
who have now received the Quality Award can show to funders and
partners that they are doing the right things and doing them
well."
