Nominations now open for the 2012 Compact Awards

There is less than 1 month to go to enter the 2012 Compact Awards. These awards are run annually to celebrate good partnership working across sectors.  Winning a Compact Award can be beneficial in a number of ways, primarily through raising awareness of your work and your local Compact, adding credibility to your work and can be useful for including in funding applications. You can nominate yourself, another individual, a local Compact group or an organisation (voluntary and community organisations and statutory bodies are eligible). If you are interested in submitting a nomination for the Compact Awards 2012, it is straightforward to do so, and there are 6 categories to choose from. More details and the nomination forms can be found on the Compact Awards website.

Joe Irvin, Chief Executive of NAVCA, said

“I hope that NAVCA members consider making a nomination for these awards. Our members do some extraordinary work to make sure that relationship between local statutory bodies and the voluntary sector are strong and productive. Funding cuts have made this work has been particularly difficult but more valuable than ever. Too often this work is taken for granted. By entering they can get the acknowledgement their work deserves.”

Winners will be announced by Nick Hurd, Minister for Civil Society, at an invitation-only ceremony during Compact Week, which runs from 5 to 9 November 2012.
