The future of public services and voluntary organisations

Open Public Services - Consultation event: Market development and supporting civil society

28th Sept, 10-12.30, Birmingham

The  government is proposing major reforms to public services in the Open Public Services White Paper. NAVCA will be responding to the paper and we would urge all interested members to do likewise. As part of the consultation process, and  in partnership with the Cabinet Office, we are holding a focused consultation for  NAVCA members on the theme of market development on Wednesday morning, 28th  September in Birmingham at BVSC. Places are free but limited so please email events@navca.org.uk to reserve a place or call 0114 278  6636.

Event  content

We  will look at what role there should be for those who support local voluntary  organisatons that deliver and bid for these public services. The consultation  will lead to a special report to be presented to government, emphasising the  vital role that support and development organisations carry out to assist local  commissioning.

Why attend?

  • Learn more about the  government's plans for public services,
  • Find  out how these will impact your  local area and voluntary organisations,
  • Share with  us your  expertise to tell us what should go in the report for government  on these important changes.

Other  ways to get involved

If  you are unable to make the event, you can still respond to the government's  consultation yourself (before the end of September), or feed into NAVCA's  reponse by emailing key thoughts and local intelligence to us at lcpu@navca.org.uk (by 23rd September).
