Better together

Better Together

At NAVCA's annual conference Nick Hurd Minister for Civil Society launched 'Better together: preparing for local spending cuts to the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector'. Published jointly by NAVCA and the Office for Civil Society this document highlights examples of local public bodies and the voluntary and community sector successfully working together to manage the impact of public spending cuts. At this point in time the way in which local areas prepare and plan for forthcoming spending reductions is key.

The document identifies five principles of good practice:

  • Communication
  • Collaboration
  • Transparency
  • Strong Leadership
  • Robust evidence
