NAVCA's Improving Local Partnerships Unit (ILP) commissioned a piece of research asking third sector representatives what skills they used and what skills they felt they needed to fulfil their role. The resulting report, Skilling Up for Stronger Voices, analysed responses and identified three skill sets: partnership skills, people skills and practical skills.

ILP, in partnership with NAVCA's Learning and Development Team, are developing a learning resource to be used by support providers. It is ideal for anyone who is working as, or supporting, third sector representatives on local strategic partnerships, children's trusts, primary care trusts, police authorities, local liaison forums and other public bodies.
