What is RSS? What are feeds?
An RSS feed delivers regularly updated summaries of web content,
such as headlines, that link to full versions of that content. When
you subscribe to a feed, you'll be able to quickly see summaries of
new information in one place as soon as it's published on the
website you subscribe to via a feed.
How do I use RSS feeds?
To subscribe to feeds, you will need a
feed
reader. Feed readers allow you to subscribe to and view RSS
feeds. By automatically retrieving updates, they help you stay up
to date with news stories and new web content.
There are a number of feed readers available, many for free.
Some are applications that you download and install, while others
are web-based and work inside your web browser. The latest versions
of many popular web browsers (such as internet explorer, firefox
etc) support feeds automatically. In these browsers you can simply
click on the feed link to view or subscribe to it.
To subscribe to NAVCA feeds in your feed reader, right-click on
one of the feeds and select "Copy Shortcut" or "Copy Link
Location." Follow the instructions for your particular feed reader
to paste this web address where it asks for the URL of the feed you
wish to subscribe to.
With some feed readers you can click on the feed link and you will
have an option to subscribe to the RSS feed.
Please note: You will need a feed reader
or more recent web browser to subscribe to RSS feeds. If you click
on a feed link in an old browser, it may display confusing,
unformatted code.
