Learning and Skills News

Voluntary and community sector organisations are working with learners at every stage of their personal and professional development. This includes key areas of provision for learners aged 14-19 (and learners with learning difficulties or disabilities aged up to 25) and for adult learners, although many voluntary and community sector work across these groups, focusing on the learner's personal and professional needs rather than their age. Local support and development organisations often play significant roles in representing and supporting learning providers at the local level.

NAVCA is working with partner organisations and with government to identify how voluntary and community organisations can support the work of the Skills Funding Agency, the Young People's Learning Agency, local authorities and regional development agencies within the new arrangements for the funding and planning of learning.

A briefing by Skills - Third Sector sets out some of the key messages for the voluntary sector that have come out of recent legislation and policy announcements.
