Regeneration

Consultation response iconMany local support and development organisations perceive a significant shift towards economic regeneration priorities at the regional and sub-regional levels.

Nevertheless they remain committed to an integrated approach to regeneration that focuses on social as well as economic outcomes. NAVCA will work with our national and regional partners and the Regional Development Agencies, to ensure that the local support infrastructure is available to enable communities to participate in the economy.

NAVCA formally responded to the CLG Select Committee inquiry into regeneration in May 2011. The response is critical of the consultation paper, saying that it is 'exceptionally brief, lacks vision and is weak on structure and content.' NAVCA has also been invited to give evidence to the committee, to take place later in 2011.
