The Commission on Funding of Care and Support is an independent body that will make recommendations to Government on how to achieve an affordable and sustainable funding system for care and support. The biggest consultation NAVCA responded to in 2009 was the Big Care Debate: Shaping the future of care, exploring ideas for paying for long term care and development of the National Care Service. - Quality and Productivity challenge (Oct 2009)
One of the biggest challenges for the NHS within the current financial climate is how to improve quality and improve productivity at the same time as making unprecedented efficiency gains. All this needs to be done within a context of rapid demographic and technological change: This consultation response sets out NAVCA's views on how this might be achieved.
