Working with the VCSE sector in the Royal Borough of Kingston in London, Kingston Voluntary Action coordinated the publication of a manifesto in the run up to the local elections in May 2026. The manifesto provided key facts about the VCSE sector in Kingston, including number of charities, volunteers and employees as well as unpacking the financial contribution of the sector to the local economy.

The manifesto took the opportunity to highlight the importance of prevention, cohesion and the essential things it contributes across the local system. It had some very clear asks for prospective councillors and an offer to work with them should they be elected. The manifesto was concise - one short webpage and made the case for extensive partnership working.

This well timed intervention was sent to every candidate standing for election in the Borough with the invitation to engage with the voluntary sector for the benefit of all residents. It gave the sector visibility during the election period. You can read the manifesto in full here.
