VONNE the regional local infrastructure organisation for the North East has been working on demonstrating the contribution of the VCFSE sector to economic growth. This is part of their work to make the case to the Tees Valley Combined Authority for inclusion as a strategic delivery partner within the Tees Valley Local Growth Plan.

"It proposes embedding the sector as an official partner in the plan’s delivery, with defined responsibilities, representation within governance structures, and transparent mechanisms for commissioning and collaboration. Establishing such structures will enable the VCSE sector to contribute effectively to the implementation of the Local Growth Plan, support meaningful collaboration, and help ensure that economic growth reaches those who need it most."

The report complies data with examples that show:

1. the size and economic scale of of the VCFSE sector in the Tees Valley

2. how VCFSE organisations support local growth

3. the place of social enterprise and innovative finance.

The full report is available here.
