Published in April 2026, Essex Community Foundation have worked with a wide range of VCFSE organisations and local infrastructure bodies of all types to cocreate 'A Joint Vision for Civil Society in Greater Essex.' The Vision is a practical tool to guide partnership, planning, and investment, as well as an invitation for change. It sets out a shared ambition for a trusted and thriving civil society across Greater Essex, recognising the vital role and economic and social value of civil society. The vision explains how partners can work together to reimagine how support is designed and delivered.
The Vision is responding to the changes taking place due to local government reorganisation, devolution and health service reorganisation, as well as linking to the rollout of the Civil Society Covenant. It calls for the recognition of the role of civil society, the creation of genuine partnerships between statutory and voluntary sectors, and for community-led investment to focus on prevention and innovation. It invites conversation and action.
