Five NAVCA members achieve LIQA
February 12, 2024
We're so pleased to announce that all five NAVCA members involved in our LIQA (Local Infrastructure Quality Accreditation) pilot programme have achieved the accreditation, demonstrating that they provide high-quality local infrastructure support in their communities.
The LIQA is a quality standard, independently assessed and then awarded by NAVCA, available to all NAVCA members. Through submitting evidence across the four functions of infrastructure, our members are able to demonstrate how they are working to support the local voluntary and community sector. The LIQA enables local infrastructure organisations to benchmark their activities and outcomes against a clear set of criteria, demonstrate their strengths and impact, and identify opportunities for future development.
The LIQA is a quality mark that all stakeholders can rely on. It supports NAVCA members to be confident about their own quality and identify where they can develop their offer; which ensures that local communities and VCSE organisations accessing services can be confident of effective, high-quality support; and which enables local authorities, health bodies and other commissioners and funders to be confident they are investing in and working alongside effective local partners.
We're so excited that the five NAVCA members that took part in the pilot have been successful in achieving the LIQA. We are also in the evaluation process, taking on what we have learnt from the pilot and the feedback from our members and LIQA assessors. We will use this learning to inform our work around the four functions of infrastructure and quality accreditation.
The five NAVCA members that have now achieved the LIQA are Community Action Bradford & District, Bury VCFA, Sandwell CVO, Support Staffordshire and Wessex Community Action. Over the next few months, we will be visiting our members to interview them about their experience of the LIQA - keep an eye on our website for these videos. We'll also be sharing their stories on our social media.
