How can we better centre lived experience in our work? Up for Yorkshire wants your views

May 9, 2025

At NAVCA, we know that some of the most meaningful change happens when people with lived experience are at the heart of designing services and shaping policy. One of our members, Up for Yorkshire, is working in partnership with York St John University to explore how local infrastructure and VCSE organisations can better listen to and represent the voices of people with lived experience.

The research is looking at how we, as a sector, can support people to participate with purpose, and how this participation can lead to real impact in communities.

Up for Yorkshire is keen to learn from good practice across the country. If you’re part of a NAVCA member organisation, they’d love to hear from you. The short survey (around 10 minutes) is open now and aims to capture insight from infrastructure organisations across England.

If you have any questions, you can contact Bryony Boyle, Head of Strategy and Partnerships at Up for Yorkshire, at Bryony@upforyorkshire.org.uk.

We’ll be sharing the findings with the NAVCA network later this year.
