NAVCA partners with Clinks to strengthen support for VCSE organisations in the criminal justice system

September 22, 2025

We’re delighted to share that NAVCA will be working in partnership with Clinks, the national infrastructure charity supporting voluntary organisations working with people in the criminal justice system and their families.

This partnership follows Clinks' re-award of the Ministry of Justice’s Infrastructure Support Grant for Small and Medium VCSE organisations (2025–29). Together, we’ll be working to strengthen communications and engagement with local infrastructure organisations, raising awareness of criminal justice priorities and developing joint approaches.

For NAVCA members, this means better access to information, opportunities, and resources to support local organisations working with people in or affected by the criminal justice system. By connecting Clinks’ expertise with the reach and networks of NAVCA members, we can ensure that smaller, community-based VCSE organisations are supported, visible, and able to influence key statutory bodies, from prisons to probation services.

Clinks represent over 500 member organisations – from large charities to smaller community groups – and have a reach of more than 8,300 people across England and Wales. With strong connections to both the voluntary sector and national policymakers, Clinks has long been a trusted voice advocating for fairer, more effective approaches to criminal justice.

You’ll be hearing more from Clinks through NAVCA channels over the coming months, as their area engagement and partnerships team begins reaching out.

In the meantime, you can find out more about their work on the Clinks website.
