We’re hiring: Health and Wellbeing Manager
October 19, 2026

We’re looking for a new person to join the NAVCA team as our Health and Wellbeing Manager, on a six-month contract for three days per week – could this be you?
We are at a pivotal moment in how healthcare is delivered. The role of communities in health creation and addressing health inequalities needs to be at the fore to make the changes people need. That needs to be at multiple levels – at neighbourhood health level, at Local Authority level through Health and Wellbeing Boards, and strategically with Integrated Care Boards. The shift to prevention and community in the NHS 10 Year plan, and the policy profile of devolution, speaks to the importance of connecting and supporting NAVCA members, and influencing clearly and effectively on the important role the VCSE sector plays.
The successful candidate will lead and develop our work to support the critical role of local infrastructure in the rapidly developing health landscape, particularly influencing around Integrated Care Systems and neighbourhood health. They will have a robust understanding of the health landscape and how the VCSE sector fits within it. They will be a proven partnership builder, committed to and experienced in collaborative cross-sector working, and passionate about supporting and demonstrating the value the VCSE sector plays in supporting community health and wellbeing.
The post-holder will focus on three key areas:
• Influencing and advocating for the role of the VCSE sector in neighbourhood health and in ICBs;
• Bringing members together to share experiences and expertise, to share knowledge and skills across the network;
• Leading work in NAVCA as we co-chair the pilot for the Health and Wellbeing Council, working with system partners, and preparing for subsequent roll out.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the positioning of the VCSE role in health creation and reducing inequalities. If you have detailed knowledge of the role and structures of health and social care systems, knowledge of the VCSE sector and local infrastructure, we would love to hear from you. We also welcome loan or secondee arrangements for this role.
