DBS/safeguarding changes - removal of supervision exemption for volunteers in regulated activity with children

Hi everyone,

Conscious this does only affect some quite specific volunteer contexts but has anyone had any organisations they are supporting raise concerns re: the short deadline on this? I've had one come in, and an ask about if there is going to be anything raised to the DBS by the sector.

Regulated activity: removal of the supervision exemption (comes into force 1 September 2026) - GOV.UK

We have a resource I made about DBS checks (our outreach worker for our region also helped check it), and I'm continually doing work to help people work out eligibilities but trying to get a sense of scale/ if we might be about to run into issues locally!
